Maciej Buchwald was born in 1986 in Warsaw. He graduated in journalism from the University of Warsaw, theatre studies from the Theatre Academy in Warsaw, and directing from the National Film School in Łódź.
Maciek is a director, screenwriter, comedian, and a co-founder and member of the “Klancyk” Improv Theatre.
Occasionally, he works as a sports journalist, actor, and rapper. He has been awarded at Polish and international film festivals (including the Grand Prix of the Short Film Competition at the Polish Film Festival in Gdynia). He is a two-time winner of the Popkiller and Lech Polish Hip Hop Awards for the hip-hop music video of the year. He developed and directed three seasons of the Netflix series “1670”, which won the Polish Film Award (Orzeł/Eagle).
Maciek is currently working on his feature-length directorial debut.
