2020 has been an extraordinary year for him. “The Other Lamb”, directed by Małgorzata Szumowska was nominated to the Best Film Award at San Sebastian International Film Festival and London Film Festival with Englert’s cinematography welcoming some great reviews around the world (New York Times called his work “ecstatic” and “hyper-seductive” and LA Times praised “the deftly balanced colors and symmetrical compositions“ captured in the film.)
The latest project of Szumowska/Englert duo – “Never Gonna Snow Again” with Michał both as a DP and co-director premiered in the main competition of the 77th Venice Film Festival. It had also been Polish candidate for an Oscar and was 2021 year’s selection of Telluride Film Festival.
